Fireworks

Last night I put The Mayor to sleep.

We were right at the end of the routine where the light is already off, I give him a kiss and leave the room.

He took my face in his hands and said, "Mommy, you're my favorite...um..."

"I'm your favorite Mommy?"

"Ummm..." He was searching for the right words.

"Your my... your my whole world."

Fireworks, Bambi, smurfs and puppies ain't got NOTHIN' on that.

Bottle that and bring it out when he's having a meltdown. I wish I can do that too.

Yep. That's the stuff we endure the 72 hours of labor for. Makes a Mom's day, I tell ya.

Yet another reason to be in awe of your son! When you share things like this it almost makes me anxious for my daughter to start talking. Almost.

That gives me such a warm-fuzzy feeling and at the same time a horrible-yucky-you're-such-a-bad-mummy-for-having-your-kid-in-daycare-and-you're-missing-out-on-fabulous-moments-like-this feeling.

What would I do without these lovely hormones or the guilt of motherhood?!

That took my breath away - and then it made me cry. He took your face in his hands?! How unbelievably sweet...

Those are the moments that wash all the craziness away and make me never want them to grow up.
