This morning K got out clothes for the kids while I took a shower.
He struggles when picking outfits for The Rooster.
Girl clothes... so challenging.
As I was drying off, K came into the bathroom and said,“Can The Rooster wear this hoochie mama shirt with hot pink shorts?”
I hope I won't hear anything like that from him in ten years, but guess what she wore to school today?

Hot Pink Shorts? Do they still make Hot Pink anything?
Hoochie mama style goes with anything. It's skanky things you have to be careful with; they clash with a lot.
Wow, for a dad to even consider allowing his daughter to wear a hoochie mama shirt with hot pink shorts is just short of miraculous!!
Liberal...or naive?
Nah! By then, he'll be begging her to wear overalls...
On another note...Can you explain the Nofollow thing to me?
I have a pair of pink pants with an 'I heart Boys" patch that I would be willing to donate to the Rooster cause....
She is such a cutie!! I actually hear that same question around my house often, which could be a bad thing. :)
Rav is crazy-ass challenged when it comes to picking out an outfit for Gracie too.
Is it really so hard?
K is da man, though. LOVE that line of his. He probably said it so deadpan too, didn't he?
I'm counting on the hoochie mama girls clothing to go OUT OF STYLE in the next 5 years. That WILL happen, right? Right?
Your husband is a riot.
Only if they're short shorts.
Yes, nothing like dressing your almost 2 year old like a hoochie mama!
In 10 years, he'll have her in turtle necks and overalls even in the middle of summer!
ha ha - my husband is already terrified of showing our nearly 5 year old's belly button! He would never put her in anything he considered "hoochie mama"
she's eatable, Jess. all the way.
At least K asked! My husband would just put it on and ignore me when I pointed out the hoochie mama element.
Call me crazy, but something tells me her Daddy will not be saying those kind of things when she gets a little bit older *LOL*
What a great Hootchie Mama pose, complete with the bald Hootchie Babydoll!
I love that picture. Seriously, your daughter is so adorable.
But where are the pink shorts? (not on you?).
She is cute.
ok, i'm a little backwards and fashion is definitely not my thing, but why is that a hoochie mama shirt?
pretty cute hoochie mama you got there ;)
William, come to my house. There is enough Hot Pink here to outfit about 30 girls.
Yes, what is cute on a 2 year old can be outright scary on a 14 year old.
I'm more concerned about the bear cub lurking behind her than any so-called hoochie mama shirt.
My exhusband generally returns my children to me with clothes inside out or backwards...AND he gets the outfits mixed up. He puts the 4 year old in the 6 year old's clothes and vice versa. I would think my kids would correct him but they don't seem to pay attention. They only fight the wardrobe when at my house. Ugh
OMG! Just what I would want to hear...hoochie mama and your daughter's name in the same sentence!
I get hoochie mama clothes for K from my husbands family sometimes... I have to hide them.
You shouldnt hear it from K, but you probably will hear it from Roo. She just wont call it that. She'll call it "everbody else is wearing these"
we will try to wear our hoochie gear to the zoo so you'll recognize us!
She's so adorable. And she looks so much like you! I adore her hair.
I"m confused...how is that hoochie mama?i think it an adorable shirt...
if K wants hoochie mama I will send outfits! ;oP
I just want to keep saying that word over and over now that you wrote it: hoochie, hoochie, hoochie.... maybe it's out of my system now :)
Oh, but he even considered that there might be two items of clothing in her dresser that might not go together? (Hoochie mama, of course, goes with everything, but, you know...) Because my husband does not seem to understand the concept of certain items of clothing (pink and orange striped t) not really being wearable with other items of clothing (lime green corduroy skirt) when dressing our kids. Can my husband take some lessons from K?
She is too cute!
The whole hoochie mama thing and thinking of the crap I wore when I was younger makes me glad to have a boy...
LOL what is hootchie about that?
She is so cute, and K is too funny
Nothing like starting them early is what I always say!
What a sweet picture, I love Dolly Sinead under her arm too.
I have to hide all the hoochie mama clothes people keep sending as "gifts" for my daughter...my husband always picks these clothes when he dresses her.
The Rooster is adorable, thank goodness she's not looking like a hoochie mama!
she looks too cute...very un-hootch. :)
The Rooster = deliciously CUTE!!!
That Rooster of yours is simply darling ... hootchie mama shirt and all!
The Rooster is a cutie pie! There does seem to be a prevalance of Hootchie Toddler Wear on the market.
My husband is also totally clueless when it comes to the fashion dos and don'ts of girls. Come to think of it, this is probably a "good" thing. ;)
We have every shade of pink imaginable including hot pink. As for the hoochie factor, my Hubby is so against it and the funny thing is our six year old wants anything with "spaghetti straps and shows my belly" she actually asks for these!
Right.
Rooster is rocking the hoochie mama shirt!
Red and hot pink....my absolute favorite! (hee-hee)
I think K's fashion sense is about as good as MR. Mayhem!
Supermodel material. She just needs to lose the baby doll and pick up an eating disorder.
I love some of the combos Brett comes up with when dressing Katie!
The Rooster is turning into quite a lovely little lady though! Too cute.
So cute. We try to avoid baby slut, but sometimes you just can't help it. I know. :0)
So cute! And not at all hootchie. I guess she doesn't take after you, after all (kidding, kidding).
Hey, it could be a lot worse! Doesn't look hoochie mama to me at all.
What a pretty picture! She's so adorable. Deciding what to wear isn't my thing either. It's one of those things that I wish I was better at. Nothing like standing in the closet and then having to sit down on the floor 15 minutes later.
That's funny -
I use terms like that all the time with my daughters clothes.
Maybe I need to change it...
Awwwww, she looks so cute.
Hoochie mama! I haven't heard that term in a long time. I gotta bring that one back to my vocabulary.
Rooster is beautiful!!
She's absolutely gorgeous... I'm not seeing the hoochie:)
I don't see anything "hootchie" about that shirt.....
But that face? It just SCREAMS for someone to "Cootchie-cootchie-coo" all over it!
Julie's comment makes me wonder What IS that in the background??
Surely NOT a bear...right??
THAT is certainly not the hoochie outfit, right? Because I see no traces of skank.
All I see is cute cute CUTE.
I love how it looks like her thumb is hooked in her belt. Posing like a true model.
She looks like a model! And I mean that in the nicest way....
SHE'S ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE!! And I can't believe your hubbie knew that term in the first place. OH MY!
Oh! She's so beautiful, and I can't believe how big she's gotten!!!!
