Darling This Is It

Alex of Alex Year One tagged me for an eight weird things meme, but wanted it to be done about The Rooster.

One: Cause You Left Me

Rooster will take a chunk out of your softest flesh.

[She thinks the arm is tasty too.]

Two: For My Family

She was born on August 29th, 2005, the same day hurricane Katrina hit the gulf coast.

Three: For My Heartache

She frightens me.

Four: For My Headache

She is permanently banned from any future hot tub parties.

Five: For My Lonely

She can hep you find yourself.

Six: For My Sorrow

She is my legacy.

Seven: N-n-no Tomorrow

She has located... the cat.

Eight: I Forget What Eight Was For

She can eat more Hebrew National All Beef Salami in one sitting than any man, anywhere, anytime.

And now?

I am supposed to tag eight people.

Could it be you?

Could it be you?

Props for the Violent Femmes tie-in.

The birth date sticks out with me because I have an ex-boyfriend whose birthday I will always remember because, No. 1, he dumped me, and No. 2, it's 9-11, as in the day the Twin Towers came down.

Nice work on VF! You are like, ROCKING the musical refs lately.

I feel so close to you.

I see that I am far from the first to get the Violent Femmes reference. So, like the school administrator I am, I'll say, "I hope you know that this will go down on your permanent record!"

i love you almost as much as I love the femmes... or wait, no, maybe I love the femmes almost as much as I love you.

no matter. between you and them there is a lot of love coming from me.

Well, I'd love to do an 8 weird things about the Rooster post, but somehow that seems weird in and of itself.

See, all you giddy young people are so completely thrilled over the Violent Femmes reference (which btw as an old person I didn't pick up on AT ALL) that nobody has noticed that the rooster's birth date is wrong. She was not born in 2007.

Oh, the typos!

I'm just thrilled that I now have a different song besides "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" (as screamed by a 5-year-old) running through my head.

It'll be a Violent Femmes Christmas!

It's just not in you to make anything not adorable...or maybe it's because your children are so sweet...

In your honor, I am now listening to the Violent Femmes. You try convincing a 7 year old that it really just says "why can't I get just one duck??!"

I love that song! I love that you are using it as your numbering for this meme! Long Live the Violent Femmes!
