For the past twenty seven days, K has had a horrible wracking cough which, it turns out, is walking pneumonia.
He's already taken two rounds of antibiotics and he's still coughing.
The Rooster has been coughing for fourteen days and finally started antibiotics yesterday.
At one a.m. last night, The Mayor covered himself, his bed, his father and the bathroom in vomit and then continued to dry heave all night long.
This morning, The Mayor asked for a glass of milk.
[Roll Friday the 13th Music: Ree Ree Ree...]
With a great feeling of certain doom, I gave him milk.
The Rooster was sitting on K's lap at the breakfast table when The Mayor clutched his stomach and threw up all over the two of them and the dining room floor.
With sighs of resignation, K and I began cleaning up the mess.
I was bent over the sink wringing out a vomit filled towel and K was on his hands and knees scrubbing the floor when our town tornado siren started wailing.
Seriously?
Uncle. Enough already. I surrender!

So you're having a GREAT TIME, then?
Ah, life with little kids. And life in a tornado alley. I don't know about that last one, but my kids are sick at LEAST 1/2 the time - and I have a sore throat. So I hear you.
Oh sweetie I am so sorry. I hope the Mayor's stomach virus does not go through the family too! This too will pass but I know how awful it is when everyone is sick. Take care. Love you, Mom.
that sounds AWESOME. I do hope everyone gets healthy soon.
maybe the warning signal was about your household!
hate it when the sick bugs visit and then decide to stay
Ah, good times eh? It could always be worse, right? I dunno ... that's what THEY say! Hang in there - nowhere to go but up!
Yikes - that's awful. Hope you all feel better soon!
Goodness it is like the plague! I hope everyone is on the mend soon.
Ick. I can not do vomit clean up, I try but just can't. I think I would have just packed up and moved. Hope everyone feels better.
oh gawd...
i'll send you a hazmat suit pronto!
hope everyone heals up & hairs over soon :-)
Thanks for the reminder of why I'm happy to be childfree. I know they're worth it and all, but OMG.
Oh yuk! I feel for you. About fourteen years ago I had two children with chicken pox, one with an ear infection, my husband had just had hernia surgery and we got twenty-eight inches of snow. Ah, parenthood.
Gosh. Not quite sure what to say. At least it all stayed off the keyboard, right?
That all does not sound very good...it sound awful - poor you.
Sending you lots of healthy-positive, get well vibes!
Umm, trying to do the math, but thinking I am glad it rained in LG. Eww! Feel better!
I hope everyone feels better soon and that there are minimal vomit incidents in your future!
Oh dear! I hope good health and weather safety return to all of you very soon!
My own kid starts pre-school next week so can't wait to meet the bugs he'll be bringing home...
Oh man! Hope you are all feeling better REALLY soon!
I realize you see no humor in this story, but could anything else have happened?
And why would you waste time cleaning up when obviously a tornado was about to blow your house away.
Good God, Jess. Hope it all passes soon.
I'm afraid to even stay and read for very long...afraid you're contagious.
I'm not sure which is worse: vomit or tornadoes.
Hope you all get well soon.
Well if anyone could carry off a HAZMAT suit, it's you, you beautiful and obviously cursed woman.
I hope this was rock bottom and that you are on your way out of hell right now.
Yikes. Tornado warning? On top of vomit? Yikes.
Okay...it's moments like these when you say "Today is cancelled" and then you spend the day drinking and watching old black & white movies. Trust me...you'll feel better. Just don't give milk to vomity kids.
Oh good grief, that is just bloody awful.
Oh my. Now that's a day that deserves a bottle of wine or two.
Hope everyone is on the mend soon!
This summer has been a bummer as far as sickness goes. Man, I hope things are better tomorrow. At least just one thing at a time.
Sorry you're having a crappy time, Jess. I hope you and your lot start to feel much better soon.
Stay hydrated!
(end of pointless comment)
xoxo
Is this the day that you decide the irony of your blog title is just too much?
I know the feeling, my daughter had walking pneumonia this spring. It was a rough one to get rid of!
Oh, the need for JackO'Clock later...
Hope things are better.
