[And then I took a job for which I had to blog... but that is a different story and I'll get to that later.]
In 2007, I was regularly blogging and decided to attend the BlogHer conference in Chicago.
I was nervous.
What if no one wants to hang out with me?!
[Oh, the anxiety.]
I organized a meet up the night before the conference got officially underway.
It was open to everyone. There wasn't a guest list. It wasn't exclusive. It was just open, real, genuine.
And, as it happened, it was fun.
We called it, The People's Party and, over the years, it's become one of the official opening parties of the BlogHer conference.
The party is hosted by some great bloggers -
Megan Velveteen Mind, Janet Izzymom, Katie Motherbumper and Jenny The Bloggess, and by me, the artist formerly known as a blogger!
The People’s Party is Thursday night, August 2nd at 8pm right before BlogHer ’12 starts. And, as Katie said,
- No RSVPs required
- No special exclusive invitations
- No feeling left out
- HECK – you don’t even need to leave the hotel!

Wouldn't miss it!
I was hoping you were going to BlogHer! I can't wait to give you a giant hug!
This is one of the things I miss about BlogHer!
Sounds like so much fun! Maybe one year I'll actually be able to go to the conference.
And those of us who are non-blogging but still-optimistically-dedicated readers (or, in this case, check-back-to-see-if-by-some-slim-chance-there's-been-a-new-posters)we MISS you! Here's to you having a very fun time with your still-blogging buddies at the event, great success with your new job, and all good things for you and your sweet family!
